The weather in Kuwait is warming up. The great thing about Ali al Salem is you can tell if it is warm outside because the cesspools warm up and the smell that will forever make me think of Kuwait permeates everything. Here are a couple of pictures from my front stoop:
I have the smoke shack right out front. The cigarette smoke really adds to the aroma of the cesspools. Note the fancy gravel "sidewalks":
Here I am at the Kuwaiti towers. It sure is nice being able to sneak off base (always legitimately, of course)! I’m standing on a stanchion, so that’s why I look a bit tippy:
Here I am in one of the “bomb-proof” shelters on the Kuwaiti side of Ali al Salem. We just park our planes outside. This was taken in January, so it was cold out. Down into the high 50s in the day:
